About Insolia Inserts, and the Company that Developed Them
Company Profile:
Established in 1998 by world-renowned podiatrist Dr. Howard Dananberg—widely considered the leading authority on computerized in-shoe pressure analysis and the foot’s effect on the body—HBN Shoe, LLC markets the Insolia family of products. Unlike others in the footwear and foot care industries, HBN engineers healthier feet with footwear components and foot care solutions that are not simply cushioning or padding, but technically superior products developed by a fusion of medical science and advanced engineering technology. Based in Salem, New Hampshire with offices in San Antonio, Texas and Hong Kong, China, HBN holds a leading market position and various worldwide patents issued and pending, with distribution spanning Asia, Europe and North America.
Core Products:
Insolia Products are made of a specially developed material to match the properties of the bottom of the foot. Insolia Products shift weight off the ball of the foot by changing the inside of high heel shoes. The products modify the inside contour of the shoe, placing the foot into the optimal position for a high heel. The results – reduced forefoot and toe pressure, a balance closer to flat shoes, improved body alignment and ankle stability. Insolia Insole Supplements are supplied to footwear brands and manufacturers. This product is used in the shoe manufacturing process. Insolia Inserts are available direct to consumers from drugstore chains and other stores and internet retailers. This product can be added to any high heel shoe of the consumer’s choice. Both Insolia Products are invisible and do not affect the beauty of the shoe, regardless of style. Insolia Products are the true marriage of science and sexy.
Product History:
Created by the combined efforts of world-renowned podiatrist, Dr. Howard Dananberg and Brian Hughes, an MIT graduate and former rocket scientist, the weight shift solution of Insolia Products are based on medical science and technology and are not cushioning or padding, which just mask the problem. Insolia Inserts have been granted the American Podiatric Medical Association’s (APMA) Seal of Acceptance, which demonstrates the inserts work and promote good foot health. Dr. Dananberg pioneered the use of computerized in-shoe pressure testing in his medical practice. In-shoe pressure sensing provided Dananberg a new perspective on various problems of feet and shoes. Using this technology, he discovered that not only do high heels shift weight to the forefoot they place the body out-of-balance. From a physical point of view the only logical solution to the affects of high heels was to reverse this weight shift.
Partners:
Since 2004, more than nine million pairs of Insolia Products have been sold worldwide, and market shares continue to grow. Distributed throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, Insolia Products are supplied to footwear brands and manufacturers, as well as directly to the consumers through various retail channels.
As HBN pushes forward with its mission of bringing a medical and technological revolution to footwear and foot care, more and more shoemakers and retailers are benefiting from the value and marketability of Insolia Products. Broadening its reach in both Asia and North America in 2011, HBN Shoe remains committed to maintaining leadership in the footwear and foot care technology through medical science and advanced engineering.
