Sculptural High Heel

High Heels are more than a foot covering-- they are a cultural statement-- and sometimes a work of art. This high heel is Art.

When I became the product engineer for HBN Shoe and worked on the development of the Insolia Insert I became much more aware of the effect that the high heel has had on our culture.

One expression of this is the creation of high heel art.

This shoe is carved from wood. Really.

The Flower Petals are Holly, the Stamen is Pink Ivorywood, the Straps are Bloodwood, the Heel is Poplar, the Sole is Cherry and the Platform Sole is Walnut. The carving is 9.5 inches long by  8.75 inches high.
